What does it cost?
We’re both running businesses here. You need a writer, I need to charge for my work.
The numbers need to add up, so let’s do the sums.
Headline numbers
-
Day rate £450
For both contract and freelance roles.
-
Dynamic discounting 2–10%
The more work you book, the less you'll pay.
-
Per-word Never
You're not hiring someone to type. You're hiring somebody to think, ideate, and collaborate.
Per-word pricing disincentivises creativity and effectiveness. It incentivises rushed work and bloated word counts. It's bad for you and for me.

Let's make it a fair deal
Every project is priced individually, which means I can’t give you an exact number for what you need on this page.
I can share some examples. It’s imperfect, but I want to provide at least some guide to what it costs to work with Bellwether.
-
Content hub £5,000
Three key terms, each with five related articles. 18 pages of expertly search-optimised, reader-prioritised writing.
-
Six-page website £4,400
Writing a new website, featuring the following pages:
- home page
- product
- features
- use cases
- pricing
- about
-
Landing page for ad campaign £750
Webpage written for persuasion and conversion, optimised for selling your product to an audience segment.
These are either examples or tweaked versions of projects I’ve already completed.
You know as well as anybody – pricing is tricky. I try to appropriately cost deadlines, demand, complexity, and resultant and residual value.
